Grand Bateria Express is a supergroup drumming ensemble that includes leaders and members of the Samba Squad, Escola de Samba, Batucada Carioca, Samba Elegua, T.Dot Batu, Maracatu Mar Aberto, Bloco Loco and from Montreal: Terrato.
Rick Shadrach Lazar is the Music Director, working in collaboration with Maninho Costas and Alex Bordokas.
Canada’s largest drumming ensemble launches the day at Dundas West Fest with a moving party playing four rhythms – Samba, Soca, Maracatu and Samba Reggae. Check out the videos to learn more about the rhythms. You can also learn the dance steps and join in the performance!
